    ADVOCACY SUPPORT & RESOURCES

Representing the interests of your program and the seniors you serve is an important part of our job. Meals on Wheels America is continually engaged in protecting and strengthening federal support through our involvement in national advocacy and awareness efforts, the legislative process and Congressional and federal agency public policy decision-making.

    YOUR VOICE ON CAPITOL HILL

One of the most important roles of our organization is leading the unified voice that represents the national network of Meals on Wheels programs on Capitol Hill. To that end, we work to support legislation and policy that strengthen home-delivered and congregate programs, the volunteers who make them happen and the seniors they serve.

    TAKE A STAND

We need to tell Congress to protect and support Meals on Wheels and the programs that keep seniors independent in their own homes. Contact your elected officials by calling or emailing them to share your Meals on Wheels story today, and encourage friends and family to do the same.

    GOT A WAITING LIST PROBLEM?

As the gap continues to grow between the seniors who need Meals on Wheels and those we are able to serve, we know that reaching out to our elected officials and communities at the same time, and with the same messages, will send a loud and clear message that #seniorscantwait. If your program has a list of seniors waiting to receive nutritious meals, we want to turn your numbers into powerful social media images that your program, and Meals on Wheels America, can use to raise awareness of the situation across the country.

    SENIOR FACTS MAP

Millions of seniors nationwide are struggling with hunger, isolation and the ability to pay for basic living needs. Our interactive Senior Facts Map uses recent data to provide state-specific information about the number of seniors facing these challenges and those served by Older Americans Act (OAA) home-delivered and congregate nutrition programs.
