STATISTICS PAINT A GRIM PICTURE

Over 400,000 seniors in Pennsylvania are struggling with hunger.

MEALS ON WHEELS PENNSYLVANIA PROVIDES MEMBERS WITH
AN ARRAY OF BENEFITS, INCLUDING:

  • ADVOCACY - In Pennsylvania, there are 125 Meals on Wheels programs! There is strength in numbers. The larger our association, the more our legislators will pay attention as we advocate for the people we serve.
  • NETWORKING OPPORTUNITIESOur current members say this has been one of the most valuable advantages of joining. Since we now know each other we speak freely on the phone and in emails and have the support of each other as we manage our programs.
  • SHARING BEST PRACTICES - How are things done in your adjoining county or across the state?  Imagine how much we could learn from each other if we had the opportunity to meet 125 other Meals on Wheels leaders formally and informally over the course of a year.
  • ANNUAL STATE CONFERENCE—Whether you are able to attend large national conferences or not, being able to attend a conference within your own state is easier and more cost effective and tailors topics to the membership.
  • AFFILIATIONS WITH OTHER ASSOCIATIONS - By being associated with the Meals on Wheels America and a member of the Senior Support Coalition of Pennsylvania, we’re able to keep current with issues that affect our programs and our participants.
