     ONLINE VOLUNTEER DRIVE!

DON'T LET VOLUNTEERS IN YOUR AREA GO UNMATCHED!

Volunteers drive the Meals on Wheels movement and most programs can never get enough of them! That’s why we’ve launched the Online Volunteer Drive with the help of Subaru and its local retailers.

All you have to do is register your organization as a participating Meals on Wheels program, spread the word to your networks, welcome your new volunteers and put them to work supporting you and your seniors. Potential volunteers will be connected to you through the Online Volunteer Drive where they can pledge to support your program. We’ll notify you of pledges in real time via email, and provide you with all the contact information, promotional and follow-up support you’ll need to get your new volunteer(s) started.

    HOW IT WORKS

Come drive with us. The Online Volunteer Drive will make it easy for new volunteers to find you and fill the roles you need most.

Click each circle to learn more about each component.

    • REGISTERING YOUR PROGRAM

The first step is yours – register for the Drive today. Tell us the kind of volunteer services you need, when you want them and if you can accommodate volunteer groups. Prospective volunteers will see this information on the Drive’s public site and choose from those needs when they pledge to volunteer.
    • UTILIZING OUR SUPPORT

Use the Online Volunteer Drive Toolkit to promote the Drive and get your new volunteers started. The toolkit includes templates for emails, social media, a press release, blurb for your website, and a guide to working with your nearby Subaru retailer on the Drive.
    • AMPLIFYING YOUR VOICE

Your local promotional efforts are being supported by emails, press releases and social media postings from Meals on Wheels America and Subaru. And, your local Subaru retailer may contact you with additional ideas for working together in June and throughout the summer.
    • MATCHMAKING ONLINE

Prospective volunteers are directed to the Drive’s public Web page to pledge their volunteer support. They select their nearby registered Member program (let’s say it’s you), choose from the volunteer opportunities you identified when you registered, and submit their name and contact information. This is all happening now at www.measlonwheelsamerica.org/drive!

    • ONBOARDING VOLUNTEERS

When volunteers pledge to serve your program, you and the prospective volunteer will both receive emails confirming the match: You get the Volunteer Pledge’s contact information, interests, availability and special skill sets, and the Pledge gets a ‘thank you’ that includes your program’s contact information. That makes it easy for you to follow up with them within 48 hours to get them on their way to becoming an active volunteer.
    • REPORTING RESULTS

In early July, we’ll share the pledge results for the first month and we’ll also send you a survey to find out how well the Online Drive is working in your area. We’ll be very interested in your feedback and what suggestions you might have for improvement!
