The Meals on Wheels Leadership Academy offers you a robust curriculum designed to support leadership and staff of Senior Nutrition Programs through on-going education tailored to meet your professional development needs. A true leader in the field needs broad knowledge of how to efficiently manage program operations and a solid understanding of the role his or her program plays within the aging and nutrition sectors. The Leadership Academy provides you with the knowledge and skills you need to build on your talents to effectively lead and improve your program’s operations and systems, and a deeper-understanding of industry-specific issues and opportunities.

The Meals on Wheels Leadership Certificate Program’s curriculum is designed to give you maximum flexibility to meet your educational needs and recognizes your accomplishments by awarding you a Leadership or Specialist Certificate after completion of the requirements of the curriculum.

ARE YOU READY TO ADVANCE YOUR CAREER?

The Leadership Certificate is open to any senior nutrition professional who leads or anticipates moving into a leadership role and/or is interested in on-going professional and leadership development. Certificate earners must enroll and complete 14 credits, one in each of the seven key leadership competencies, and participate in one three-credit Intensive Workshop.* Courses are offered in a variety of formats including live and on-demand webinars and in-person training at the Meals on Wheels Annual Conference and Expo.

WANT MORE? EARN A SPECIALIST CERTIFICATE

After earning your 14 credits needed for your Leadership Certificate, you have the option to continue your learning by earning a Specialist Certificate. This provides you with:

  • An opportunity to become a subject matter expert in a specific area of senior nutrition
  • Continuing education that furthers your growth as a professional and a leader in your field

To earn a Specialist Certificate, you must complete 8 additional credits within a single focus area track. There is no additional enrollment fee associated with the Specialist Certificate.

To begin earning credits towards your certificate, check out our Upcoming Learning Events. Enrollees will also receive a monthly News You Can Use e-newsletter with helpful tips and resources to further your professional development and keep you on track. Keep in mind that you will only earn credits towards your certificate by attending webinars and events hosted by the Meals on Wheels Leadership Academy.
