Today Meals on Wheels America President and CEO Ellie Hollander shared recommendations to prioritize senior hunger and nutrition with the National Commission on Hunger. The Commission has been charged with developing innovative reforms for both public and private food assistance programs in the United States. It is comprised of
10 individuals appointed by Congressional leadership in 2014. Their goal is to provide Congress and the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) with a "playbook" on how to more effectively use nutrition programs and limited funding to reduce, and eventually eliminate, food insecurity nationwide.
