ABOUT MEALS ON WHEELS OF NORTH CAROLINA

Meals on Wheels of North Carolina is a nonprofit statewide network of senior nutrition providers allied in passion to end senior hunger. In partnership with Meals on Wheels America, Meals on Wheels of North Carolina was created to strengthen communication between nutrition programs and enhance knowledge of issues within the aging population. 

Meals on Wheels of North Carolina is a member based association. Aligning more closely with Meals on Wheels America through membership in Meals on Wheels of North Carolina will create opportunities for grants to enhance the work of nutrition providers across NC; provide networking opportunities and sharing of best practices of other providers; access to education and training opportunities and provide advocacy and a leadership organization for Meals on Wheels and other non-profit nutrition providers in the state of North Carolina.

  • Advocate for funding on State and Federal Level
  • Serve as a lead to educate member organizations by elevating the awareness and importance of nutrition programs
  • Support members by collaborating to advance education, training, resources and partnerships. 
  • Provide networking and mentoring to members across the state of North Carolina.

MEMBERSHIP

Please consider joining MOWANC today! It is imperative that senior nutrition programs have a unified voice in order to be heard in Raleigh and Washington D.C.  MOWNC dues are $25/year. Dues are paid annually and cover the period of July 1 - June 30 each year.

ANNOUNCEMENTS

Blue Cross Blue Shield of North Carolina (BCBSNC) has invested 1.2 million dollars to help fight senior hunger in North Carolina. Meals on Wheels Durham is acting as fiscal sponsor on behalf of Meals on Wheels North Carolina to distribute $400,000 per year over the next three years to 40 tier 1 counties across the state.
