TYPES OF LEARNING SESSIONS

Concurrent Sessions are 90-minute courses that explore topics across the five learning tracks.

Intensive Workshops are 3-hour courses designed to go more in depth into a topic in one of the five learning tracks. These are sometimes offered in two 90-minute concurrent sessions labeled as Part 1 and Part 2.

Institutes go one step further than Intensive Workshops and are typically 4+ hours of training total broken into a series of Concurrent Sessions or Intensive Workshops that build upon one single discipline within a learning track.

Panel-of-Peers are 90-minute sessions that feature Meals on Wheels America Members as experts on a certain topic within the five learning tracks.

Lightning Learning sessions are “bite-sized” learning sessions that feature brief presentations (20 – 25 minutes) on a variety of topics followed by an audience Q&A.

Communities of Practice meetings provide a forum to network, share best practices and problem solve alongside programs with similar resources, issues and challenges. Attendees should join the meeting that coincides with their program’s annual senior nutrition operating budget.

  • SMALL PROGRAM - less than $500,000
  • MEDIUM PROGRAM - between $500,000 and $2,000,000
  • LARGE PROGRAM - greater than $2,000,000

LEARNING LEVELS

We are all at different stages of professional and skill development that require different levels of learning. It’s your choice as to the most appropriate level based on your current knowledge, relevant experience, and professional growth goals.

101 - Foundational: focus on awareness and factual recall; appropriate for those with limited experience of the subject area seeking introductory understanding of the content areas.

201 - Intermediate:
focus on understanding and comprehension; appropriate for those with some experience seeking to build on, apply, or enhance existing knowledge using content in practical applications to master concepts.

301 - Advanced:
focus on application and implementation of highly technical or detailed topics; appropriate for those with substantial prerequisite knowledge seeking the most up-to-date information to heighten expertise.
