OUR 2019 FOCUS AREAS

This year’s programming will once again focus on the network’s most pressing challenges and emerging opportunities:

  • READYING PROGRAMS FOR HEALTHCARE PARTNERSHIPS
Invaluable opportunities to integrate Meals on Wheels into the healthcare ecosystem have arrived. This year’s Conference seeks to provide the support and guidance that community-based senior nutrition programs need to confidently pursue these revenue-generating partnerships. Healthcare experts and successful peers will demonstrate how to adapt existing models and measure outcomes to improve care and meet the needs of payers. Sessions will accommodate varying levels of knowledge and readiness, and will focus on service offering development, data collection and compliance.
  • STRENGTHENING MEALS ON WHEELS' COMPETITIVE ADVANTAGE
The senior nutrition market has become extremely competitive and we must continue to fight for funding, contracts and a place at the table. Together, we must adapt to this new landscape and differentiate our unique and invaluable offerings from our competitors. Sessions will focus on how to further define and expand our “more than just a meal” model of delivering nutrition, socialization, safety and even care coordination.
  • FUTURE-PROOFING OUR ORGANIZATIONS
Thriving in the ever-changing field of senior nutrition and nonprofit management is no easy task. From volunteer management to financial planning, fundraising and digital communications, sessions will cater to senior nutrition professionals at all stages of their career, focusing on the necessary skills and competencies needed to grow personally and grow strong and sustainable organizations that can thrive for years to come.

LEARNING TRACKS

No one covers training for the full spectrum of what it takes to run successful, thriving Meals on Wheels programs the way we do. Conference sessions will fit into one of our five learning tracks that will allow attendees tailor and optimize their 2019 learning experience.
