Together, We Can Deliver™
isn’t just a catchy tagline. Through and through, Meals on Wheels America and its network of local senior nutrition programs are able to do more as one, unified Meals on Wheels movement. That’s why year after year, 9 out of 10 Meals on Wheels America Member programs renew their Membership. It provides every person on your staff and Board of Directors full access to the wide range of services and information designed specifically to help you to better serve the seniors in your community.

Meals on Wheels America Membership is open to non-profit organizations, governmental agencies and tribal organizations engaged directly in the provision of meals and/or nutrition services to seniors. The annual organization Membership dues range from $175 to $300 based on program size. Read on to learn more!

COVID-19 RESPONSE

Meals on Wheels America staff and Board of Directors continue to monitor the evolving situation to ensure Members have access to the most up-to-date recommendations and resources. We've created a comprehensive online COVID-19 Response hub that hosts the most timely and relevant information for our Members and the populations they serve. There are also frequent and supportive conversations happening on Meals on Wheels Connect, our online community platform designed to bring the network together 365 days a year, in a way that's focused, valuable and all our own.

JUST ANNOUNCED: COVID-19 RESPONSE FUND GRANTS OF UP TO $25,000

Meals on Wheels America launched its COVID-19 Response Fund on March 16 to harness the outpouring of support from concerned corporations, foundations and individuals at the national level. The corresponding grant program will provide “stop-gap” emergency grants of up to $25,000 to Members working tirelessly to secure additional food and supplies and adapt to new procedures and delivery methods all while experiencing a rapid increase in demand for services.

THE VALUE OF MEMBERSHIP

INCREASE YOUR RESOURCES AND REDUCE EXPENSES

  • Member-Only Funding – We continue to build national partnerships that provide much-needed funding for Meals on Wheels programs. In 2019, we distributed more than $3.9 million to help our Members expand capacity, fill funding gaps and feed more seniors. That’s on average $18 back for every $1 spent on dues.

  • Federal and Grassroots Advocacy Efforts – Not only do we fight for your programs on Capitol Hill, we equip Members with the tools you need to advocate for more adequate funding at all levels of government. Members benefit from frequent “Washington Update” emails, our newly improved Member Advocacy Center and our national advocacy campaigns.

  • National Volunteer Recruitment Efforts – The “America, Let’s Do Lunch™” PSA campaign put Meals on Wheels in the national spotlight, recruiting a whole new generation of volunteers to support your programs and your seniors.
  • Member Discount Program – We’ve leveraged the buying power of the entire Meals on Wheels network to deliver huge savings on the products and services you use most. Our latest partnership with Valley, Inc. enables Members to expand meal capacity, choice offerings and geographic reach through cost-effective meal purchasing and client-direct drop shipments.

BE A PART OF SOMETHING BIGGER

  • National Campaigns – Members can leverage our turnkey community engagement campaigns – such as our annual March for Meals – to raise awareness and much-needed funding in their own communities.

  • National Branding – Members have the ability to make the national award-winning Meals on Wheels brand their very own and showcase their affiliation with this powerful movement. We’ve even created the tools and support to help you through the rebranding process.

LEARN AND GROW

  • Learning @ Meals on Wheels America – Our learning opportunities and events include traditional formats such as in-person sessions and intensive workshops at the Meals on Wheels Annual Conference, to live and on-demand webinars, and more. No one covers training for the full spectrum of what it takes to run successful, thriving Meals on Wheels programs the way we do.
  • Information to Keep Members Current – We work diligently to keep Members informed of industry insights, innovative practices, legislative developments and national initiatives so that they can stay focused on running their programs.
  • National Resource Center on Nutrition and Aging (NRCNA) – Meals on Wheels America is proud to be the host of this free, online comprehensive resource in partnership with the Administration for Community Living.
