    RALLYING A NATION

America’s seniors are lonely. And, as a nation, we’ve allowed them to fall into the shadows. Families are living farther away and neighbors are more strangers than ever before. We all have the power to help change that.

That’s why Meals on Wheels America, along with celebrity supporters, has launched the #RespectYourElders campaign to garner support for America’s aging population and raise awareness for the importance of honoring seniors nationwide.

    KEEPING SENIORS SAFE

Historic White House Conference on Hunger, Nutrition and Health

The historic White House Conference on Hunger, Nutrition and Health is gathering leaders from a variety of backgrounds to explore a new, national strategy to ensure all Americans will have access to nutritious food. Meals on Wheels America is honored to have been invited to be part of the conversation and to be the voice for millions of seniors who face food insecurity. Together, through this strategy, we have collectively set a national goal of ending hunger and reducing diet-related diseases by 2030. Become a part of this important event by staying informed.

    Make Good Go Further

PROGRAMS SERVING MORE MEALS THAN EVER BEFORE TO KEEP UP WITH DEMAND

During the pandemic, we sent $31.3 million directly to the frontlines. That’s more than 1,000 grants to support 628 local communities. Our impact spanned the nation and went into the communities that needed it most. Thanks to our generous donors, we’ve been able to provide healthy meals, social contact and a watchful eye for millions of seniors. But, our work has just begun. We still need to safely serve seniors in need through the end of the pandemic and long into the future.

    March for Meals

THE OLDER AMERICANS ACT NUTRITION PROGRAM TURNS 50

Each year, the March for Meals celebration commemorates the historic day in March of 1972 when President Nixon signed into law a measure that amended the Older Americans Act of 1965 to include a national nutrition program for seniors 60 years and older. This legislation supported the rapid growth of the nationwide network of senior nutrition programs – commonly referred to as Meals on Wheels – that collectively served more than 223 million meals to over 2.4 million seniors prior to the pandemic.

Join us in celebrating and help show your support through volunteering, donating and speaking out – to ensure we are able to deliver for another 50 years.
