Meals on Wheels America Membership

Meals on Wheels America has a mission to empower community-based senior nutrition providers to improve the health and quality of life of those they serve so that no one is left hungry or isolated. As the national leader, we work to galvanize the network and drive us toward our goal to End the Wait™ by eliminating all waitlists and ensuring every senior who needs Meals on Wheels gets it. By providing funding, programming, education, research and advocacy, Meals on Wheels America supports local providers in strengthening their communities, one senior at a time.

Together, Meals on Wheels America and its network of local providers are able to do more as one, unified Meals on Wheels movement. That’s why year after year, 9 out of 10 Meals on Wheels America members renew their membership.

  • Research and data – Members can be a part of making the case for increased private, federal, state and local support, as well as capturing best practices, piloting innovative approaches and participating in various research initiatives. Every year we produce fact sheets, reports and member research for their use in making the case for Meals on Wheels in their community.
  • National branding – Members have the ability to showcase their affiliation to the national award-winning Meals on Wheels brand identity through assets like the Member Badge and access to branded materials in the Member Store. To further align with this powerful movement, we’ve also created the tools and support to help members take on the national brand identity in their local community.
  • Highly visible campaigns – Every year, Meals on Wheels America designs national awareness campaigns to support the network, and creates turnkey marketing assets for members to use in their own communities.
  • Health care integration – Meals on Wheels America supports and guides members in their pursuit of mutually beneficial health care partnerships. We actively promote the Meals on Wheels value proposition within the health care landscape and leverage our research and expertise to shape and influence the health care environment.

Increase Your Resources and Reduce Expenses

  • Advocacy – Not only are we a loud voice for Meals on Wheels providers and the seniors they serve in Washington, but we also equip members with the tools they need to advocate for more adequate funding at all levels of government. Members benefit from frequent “Washington Update” emails, our Advocacy Center full of tools for engaging with their elected officials and our national and grassroots advocacy campaigns.
  • Exclusive Offers, Rewards and Expertise – Our MORE (Member Offers, Rewards & Expertise) Program helps members reduce operational costs and increase efficiency through discounted pricing, trusted guidance and rewards on the products and services members use most. Through our partnerships with selected vendors, they can leverage the buying power of the entire nationwide Meals on Wheels network for their organization.
  • Member-only funding opportunities – Through national partnerships and our exclusive grant programs, we provide much-needed funding for Meals on Wheels providers to expand capacity, fill funding gaps and feed more seniors. We also work with partners to provide revenue share opportunities for participating members.

Learn and Grow

  • Online community to connect with peers – Meals on Wheels Connect is our community platform designed to bring the network together 365 days a year, in a way that’s focused, valuable and all our own. Members can find everything from opportunities for peer-to-peer connection, recorded webinars, curriculums, programming toolkits and more.
  • Learning curriculum and toolkits – We create learning modules and ready-to-use toolkits to support members’ programming work, including pet support, social connection and medically tailored meals.
  • Virtual webinars – We work diligently to keep members informed of industry insights, innovative practices, legislative developments and national initiatives so that they can stay focused on running their organizations.
  • In-person annual conference – No one covers the full spectrum of what it takes to run successful, thriving Meals on Wheels organizations the way we do!
