Meals on Wheels is powered by people just like you, and we need your help to fund and protect the community-based organizations that support older adults. One in three local Meals on Wheels providers has a waitlist, with seniors in need waiting on average four months for vital meals. We are urging Congress to fund and protect senior nutrition programs, which provide life-saving meals and services to millions of older Americans each year, in the home and in community dining centers. The Crisis of Waiting
Across the United States, Meals on Wheels providers are urgently grappling with extensive waitlists due to increasing demand and declining federal funding. Even when funding remains the same, rising food, gas and operational costs result in fewer seniors being served as providers struggle to make ends meet.
