This year, we're honoring the 50th anniversary of when President Richard Nixon signed into law a measure that amended the Older Americans Act of 1965 and established a national nutrition program for seniors 60 years and older. This legislation spurred the rapid growth of the nationwide network of senior nutrition programs – commonly referred to as Meals on Wheels – that have delivered more than just nutritious meals to homebound seniors in virtually every community across the country for decades.
As Meals on Wheels programs across the country join forces to celebrate 50 years of proven success, we need your help to garner the support needed to ensure they can continue to address food insecurity and malnutrition, combat social isolation, enable independence and improve health for years to come. Email your Members of Congress today to show your support for funding and protecting the Older Americans Act Nutrition Program!
