REPAIRING HOMES AND HEARTS OF SENIOR VETERANS

HOW IT WORKS

As part of its ongoing commitment to improving the homes and lives of U.S. military veterans and their families, The Home Depot Foundation has funded veteran home repairs through Meals on Wheels America and local Meals on Wheels programs across the country since 2015. Through this partnership, The Home Depot Foundation has contributed more than $11 million and countless volunteer hours from Team Depot – The Home Depot’s associate-led volunteer force – to help senior veterans with critical home repairs so they can age more safely and comfortably in their own homes.

CREATING IMPACT

Thanks to funding from The Home Depot Foundation, Meals on Wheels programs and Team Depot are able to repair the homes of senior veterans like Korean War Veteran Bernardo Romero.

THE RESULT

Across the country, The Home Depot Foundation’s financial and strategic support has engaged Team Depot volunteers in the meaningful work of repairing more than 1,500 senior veterans’ homes. Currently, The Home Depot Foundation supports Meals on Wheels in nine communities, including their hometown of Atlanta, Georgia, as well as locations in Alaska, Florida, Maryland, Michigan, Minnesota, North Carolina, Ohio and Texas.
