THE MEALS ON WHEELS ASSOCIATION OF KANSAS

ABOUT

The Meals on Wheels Association of Kansas (MOWAK) is comprised of home-delivered and congregate meal programs from all corners of the state. Kansas meal providers have had a strong state association for many years. Now, as MOWAK, meal providers will have a strong advocate at the state and national levels to help ensure that nutrition and other services will continue to be available to allow seniors to remain in their homes.

MEMBERSHIP

On May 17 and 18, 2011, we hosted our first regional training seminar in Kansas City. Individuals from Kansas as well as those from the surrounding states met for an afternoon to discuss emergency management issues and to test pilot the food safety initiative. Everyone went back to their programs with valuable information as well as a goody bag full of refrigerator thermometers for clients!
