LEADERSHIP CERTIFICATE PROGRAM

All educational courses at the Conference are provided by the Leadership Academy. If you are already enrolled in the Academy and working toward a Leadership Certificate, attending these sessions and workshops will help you earn your certificate sooner. In addition, many of the courses will give you a Certificate of Attendance for CEU credits for dietitians and CFRE credits for fundraisers.

If you want to enroll in the Meals on Wheels Leadership Academy Certificate Program and start earning credits, visit www.mealsonwheelsamerica.org/certificate-program or contact academy@mealsonwheelsamerica.org

TRACKING CREDITS AT CONFERENCE

We ask that Leadership Academy Enrollees track the sessions and workshops they attended during the 2017 Meals on Wheels Annual Conference to make sure you receive credit towards your Leadership Certificate. The CREDIT TRACKER form can be found in your Registration Packet. At the end of Conference, please return your completed form to the registration desk or scan and email it to academy@mealsonwheelsamerica.org by September 29, 2017. Please note, if we do not receive your completed Credit Tracker form, we will not be able to give you credit for sessions attended.

COURSES FOR CREDIT

During the Conference, the Leadership Academy offers three types of educational instruction that will earn credits toward a Leadership Certificate or Specialist Certificate.

Concurrent Sessions are 90-minute learning sessions that explore topics in the seven key professional tracks. Each session is worth one credit toward your Meals on Wheels Leadership Academy Certificate or Specialist Certificate.

Intensive Workshops are 3-hour sessions designed to go more in depth into a topic in one of the key tracks and are worth three credits toward your Meals on Wheels Leadership Academy Certificate or Specialist Certificate.

Institutes go one step further than Academy Intensive Workshops and are worth four credits toward your Meals on Wheels Leadership Academy Certificate, or your Specialist Certificate if you already earned a Leadership Certificate, when you attend all sessions involved. If you only attend one or two of those sessions, you will earn one credit per session.

Panel-of-Peers Sessions are 90-minute sessions that feature members as experts by showcasing three 30-minute program innovations presentations by member programs. Each session is worth one credit toward your Meals on Wheels Leadership Academy Certificate or Specialist Certificate.

ADDITIONAL LEARNING SESSIONS

Lightning Learning Sessions are “bite-sized” learning sessions that feature shorter presentations (20 – 25 minutes) on a variety of topics followed by an audience Q&A session.

Communities of Practice Meetings provide a forum for similar sized programs (small, medium or large) to network, share best practices, discuss common issues, challenges and solutions and enable you to learn from your peers.

Member IdeaXchange allow attendees to self-select the session they'd like to attend from the following: Rural Programs, Urban/Suburban Programs, Congregate Programs or Privately Funded Programs. Sessions will be small group-focused and enable attendees to discuss challenges, opportunities and innovations relative to the focus area selected.

Sponsor and Partner Spotlights provide dedicated time with sponsors and partners to learn about their Meals on Wheels America initiatives.
