Q: What types of organizations benefit most from Membership?
A: Meals on Wheels America was created to support established non-profit organizations and governmental agencies engaged directly and primarily in the provision of meals and/or nutrition services to seniors. We provide a wide range of resources for privately or publicly funded programs with home-delivered and/or congregate meal services.
Q: Who is eligible for Membership?
A: General Membership is open to established non-profit organizations, governmental agencies and tribal organizations engaged directly and primarily in the provision of meals and/or nutrition services to seniors. Members are generally well-established community-based organizations that have a main focus and mission to support the nutritional needs and overall welfare of older Americans. Applications are pending until approved by the Meals on Wheels America Membership Committee. For-profit organizations are not eligible for Membership.
Q: What’s the current cost of Membership?
A: The Meals on Wheels America dues structure contains tiered levels based on program size as defined by senior nutrition operating budget. The current tiers are as follows:
- Programs with senior nutrition operating budgets less than $500,000: $250 per year
- Programs with senior nutrition operating budgets between $500,000 and $999,999: $400 per year
- Programs with senior nutrition operating budgets between $1,000,000 and $1,999,999: $650 per year
- Programs with senior nutrition operating budgets greater than $2,000,000: $1,200 per year
With that, every Member of your organization and Board receives full access to the value of Meals on Wheels America membership – grants, discounts, professional development, advocacy, products, services and networking.
Q: How long does my Membership last?
A: Dues are paid annually and run from your sign-up date until the anniversary of that sign-up date. For example, if you are officially approved as a Member on July 1st of this year, your Membership will run through June 30th of next year.
