Arlington, VA, October 29, 2015 – Meals on Wheels America today announced that it was the recipient of a Gold Award at this week’s inaugural Transform Awards North America in New York City. The award recognizes Meals on Wheels America’s excellence in rebranding and brand development as it launched a new name, logo and website earlier this year with design direction from Duffy & Partners.
“We are particularly proud to have won Gold in the External Stakeholders category as it confirms our efforts to create a brand identity that inspires adoption by more than 1,000 local member programs to create a unified, national voice for Meals on Wheels,” said Susan Waldman, Chief Marketing and Communications Officer at Meals on Wheels America. “Strengthening our national voice is key to garnering the support that will enable our members to meet the rapidly growing needs of millions of seniors around the country.”
The awards consistently set a stronger benchmark for work in brand development while reflecting the growing significance of brand in strategic communications. The corporate or nonprofit brand – and its implementation, positioning and creativity – has become one of the most valuable assets an organization owns.
With shortlisted companies from the United States, Canada and Mexico, the evening proved there is much to be celebrated in North America. The awards, held at Espace in New York City, were hosted by George Dawes Green. Meals on Wheels America was recognized along with other top winners such as CVS Health, Azur Global, Airbnb, GlaxoSmithKline, Alchemix, TransUnion, Suncor and Pitney Bowes.
“It was an honour to get to judge the first Transform Awards in North America,” said Rob Meyerson, head of global naming at HP and Transform Awards judge. “I was truly impressed by the quality and diversity of entries. The winners should be especially proud, as their submissions represent some of the best brand strategy and creative work in the industry today.”
